7″ single release from Vital Idles, released on Not Unloved Records. Comes out on December 9th, and there’s a launch gig on the 10th at Titwood Bowling Club, Glasgow (it’s near Pollokshields West Station). Punkish pop with the emphasis on pop and some really nice trumpet playing too.
It’ll be available to buy at the gig (Facebook Event Link here) and at record shops and online soon, but for now you can stream it on Bandcamp.
ANOTHER UPDATE – Available to order online now! – BANDCAMP
UPDATE – I’ve realised you may have to be logged into Facebook to see the event, which might be a problem for some people, so here’s the poster instead.
5th release of volume 3 of the Odd Box 100 Club Series, limited to 100 copies (100 club – 100 copies. See?) released in February but available to pre-order now. Suggested Friendsare 4 people from other bands (Cat Apostrophe/Wolf Girl/Chorusgirl) and describe themselves as Tweemo. I think they’ve got more of an edge to their music than that word implies, but more importantly Chicken is a bit good.

New track from Sidney, 4 piece band from London (George Haberis – Vocals, Henry Withers – Guitar, Robert ‘Sluggo’ Hughes – Bass, Joseph Coope – Drums). Released today and available for download on Bandcamp, they might play it tonight when they play at New River Studios and on the 22nd December at Brixton Windmill. I’m sure they will if you ask them nicely.
A new album from Garden Centre, Monster Energy is a 12 track album with songs about fishes and urinals. Currently available as NYP download only, but if enough people ask for it, it’ll get a release on cassette too. Go on then.
Very very very pleased to see that Night School Records are releasing this on vinyl after I missed out on the cassette release. If I Can’t Handle Me At My Best, You Don’t Deserve You At Your Worst, from Helena Celle, is an 8 track album of experimental electronic music. I’m not going to attempt to match the description Night School have given it – you can read that yourself here – I’ll just say I love it and it sits alongside Yeah You’s Id Vendor as the reasons I swapped my Boss ME-80 for a Microkorg.
