It’s been 2 years since I last posted about The Plodes. Back then I said they were a 2 piece – maybe the were, maybe they weren’t, but they seem to have given birth to an extra Plode – they’ve exploded. I just thought of that when I was typing it and I’m quite pleased with it, so it’s staying in. Anyway, Have One Of Our Nice Yellow Boxes is their new album, 12 tracks of pop punk that still remind me of early XTC with a tiny bit of Devo thrown in for good measure.
Available to download from Bandcamp, or on cassette from the band themselves, Gary Cassettes and Last Marmot in Canada (sorry but I can’t find any working links for either) and Godless America Records in the US. The band are playing at The Toast Collective in Vancouver this Saturday, 25th.
