Ski Pie What?

What you actually mean is Ski Pie Who, but that’s a tale for another day.  For now, all you need to know is that I’m here because I was told to be.  Going to gigs and posting every few minutes about music on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter wasn’t really enough.  For me or the people I met at the aforementioned gigs.  Just do it, make a contribution to the scene, don’t wait for somebody else to do it.  So I am.

The point of the blog is to provide a more streamlined outlet for my love of independent music, mainly in Scotland, because that’s where I live, but from all over the UK and beyond.  If “it” needs to be heard, as I believe all music should be, good or bad, then I’m hoping to provide an outlet of sorts.  And by doing so, I hope some people can come to love and embrace the independent music scene.  Yeah, it might be full of freaks and geeks.  Okay, it sometimes seems like a place for the disaffected in society to reside.  And it is.  But it’s full of people who just want to be happy and for you to be happy.

Come and join us – the water’s lovely.  If you’d like to send me anything or just fancy a chat then please feel free to email me on skipierage@gmail.com

ADDENDUM – I thought I’d explained the name on here but turns out I hadn’t, so if anyone’s interested here it is.  It’s not very interesting though, be warned.  There used to be a band in Glasgow called Froth, who were really really good, I loved them.  Trouble is, there was another band with the same name from America, and they were a little further along with their career at the time.  So Glasgow Froth decided to change their name and asked their friends for ideas.  As anyone will have realised if they’ve read any of my reviews, I have very little imagination and I couldn’t come up with anything.  So I decided to take the first 2 letters of the first names of each of the members of the band, jumbled them up and came up with Ski Pie Rage.  Incredibly the band didn’t take the name, so I decided to keep it for myself.  Don’t ask me what it means, I just like the words in that order.  Pie Rage Ski for example doesn’t have the same ring to it.  So it doesn’t mean anything, it’s just a bunch of words put together because 5 people happened to be called Paul, Eilidh, Keith, Grant and Simone.
