The Tailbreakers – S/T LP

The lesson for today – Get your tags right and the music comes to you.

The Tailbreakers are from Toronto.  They’re also from the 60’s.  Seriously, if you’ve ever heard any of the Pebbles or Nuggets compilations you’ve heard The Tailbreakers

TailbreakersThat’s not a criticism by the way, just an observation.  From the opening jangling riff of Boneshaker, and the fuzzy wah sound of Electric Monkey you’re taken back to a time when garage rock and psychedelia were almost de rigeur.  Sonic Ride is straight out of Haight-Ashbury via Greenwich Village.

The whole album, released on Ongakubaka Records from Richmond, Virginia is unashamedly nostalgic, and I say why not?  Not every record has to break new ground, but most should be about having a good time, and this one definitely is.

Tailbreakers 2Released at the end of September, you can buy it from Bandcamp on limited edition cassette or download, and I suggest you do.
