That’s not a criticism by the way, just an observation. From the opening jangling riff of Boneshaker, and the fuzzy wah sound of Electric Monkey you’re taken back to a time when garage rock and psychedelia were almost de rigeur. Sonic Ride is straight out of Haight-Ashbury via Greenwich Village.
The whole album, released on Ongakubaka Records from Richmond, Virginia is unashamedly nostalgic, and I say why not? Not every record has to break new ground, but most should be about having a good time, and this one definitely is.
Released at the end of September, you can buy it from Bandcamp on limited edition cassette or download, and I suggest you do.
